Help Zoë run again

Donation protected
Zoë  came to us two weeks after losing our beloved Zoltar of 13 years. She was a rescue from Louisiana ( Last Chance Rescue) at roughly 10 weeks- the question is who really rescued whom?
She is a very sweet, energetic, yet shy dog that has had her many challenges in just a short few years on this earth. Every obstacle we’ve been fortunate to overcome; however, this next obstacle is a bit financially challenging for us.

Roughly before the holidays we noticed Zoë started limping. At first we didn’t think too much of it as we’ve been pretty active lately with weekend hikes and numerous walks. We thought maybe more short walks would be better than our long walks she was accustomed to getting. During one of those walks Zoë  let out a loud cry as she was unable to walk any further.

Having a large dog ( roughly 76lbs) you are always aware of certain health issues that come along with your animal-so mentally went to hip dyslexia. We arranged a visit to the vet where they did X-rays of her and came to the conclusion it was not her hips or cancer, but a torn ligament. Zoë somehow has two torn ligaments- in her left leg she’ll need a full replacement and in her right she’ll need a partial.

We have a great vet program but unfortunately they do not cover surgeries. For the last couple of weeks we’ve been calling pet surgeons in and around the Maryland area. The first vet quoted us roughly $4500 and that was just for one leg. After many calls we’ve found a location that has quoted us $6000 for both repairs and have made an appointment for March 9th.

We understand that this is a hard time for many but at this point we have no other option to just put it out there that we can not do it on our own- we need help. If you are willing and able to donate to our Zoë’s medical bills we will forever be greatful. Any and every little bit will be a blessing to us as we just want to give her the best life she deserves.

Thank you for taking your time reading.
