Hello, my name is Anita, and I’m writing on behalf of my incredible mother, Zina.

Many of you know Zina as a fiercely independent, hardworking, and deeply compassionate woman. She’s the kind of person who will drop everything to help someone else—always putting others before herself. Her kindness and selflessness have touched so many lives, and now she needs our help.

Zina has been battling severe knee arthritis for over 15 years. Despite the pain, she’s carried on with remarkable strength. But recently, things have worsened. She’s been diagnosed with stage 4 arthritis—her joints are severely damaged, and there’s no cartilage left. Her bones grind painfully with every step. Her doctor was amazed she could still walk without support.

After five years of waiting and planning, Zina finally underwent knee replacement surgery here in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. She’s currently recovering in the hospital, and we’re hopeful this marks the beginning of a new chapter—one without constant pain.

We’re raising $16,000 CAD (~80,000 BOB) to cover the full cost of her surgery and recovery:

• $10,000 for the metal implant and surgical procedure

• $6,000 for medications and a 3-day hospital stay
