Justice for Zimbabwe: Fighting Crimes Against Humanity and Mass Genocides
Zimbabweans stand at the threshold of history, united in a quest for a democratic and just society with a diverse coalition of change-makers with a quest for Justice and Accountability for the Heinous Crimes Against Humanity committed against its 16 million Citizens.
Our Goal
We aim to raise $200,000* to support a diverse coalition of change-makers in Zimbabwe who are demanding justice and accountability for these crimes.
Your Donation will help:
- Travel to International Human Rights Conferences: Send Representatives to Key Conferences, including the United Nations Human Rights Council and the International Criminal Court, to advocate for Zimbabwe's Case and engage with International Stakeholders.
- Engage the United Nations Security Council: Lobby the UNSC to take decisive action against the Zimbabwean regime and refer the situation to the ICC.
- Support the International Criminal Court: Fund legal efforts to bring perpetrators of mass genocides and Human Rights Abuses to Justice at the ICC.
- Amplify the Voices of Victims: Provide a platform for survivors of mass genocides and human rights abuses to share their stories and demand justice.
- Advocate for Healthcare Reform: Push for urgent reforms to Zimbabwe's healthcare system, including increased funding, equipment, and personnel.
- Global Human Rights Campaigns: Partner with International Human Rights organizations to amplify the voices of Zimbabwean victims and Demand Justice.
- Economic Support: Provide economic support to Zimbabweans affected by the crisis, including food, shelter, education, and medical aid.
- Refugee Support: Support Zimbabwean Refugees and Asylum seekers in Host Countries, especially in South Africa, including access to Basic Services from Medical and Legal Assistance, in worst scenarios repatriation of deceased xenophobia attack victims.
- International Community Engagement: Engage with governments, international organizations, and civil society to raise awareness about the Zimbabwean crisis and advocate for action.
- Advocate for an Independent Judiciary and Restore Civilian Governance to cease Military Interference in breach of the Constitution with personnel deployed ZanuPf commissariat effective 2005 under Operation Maguta, Command Agriculture, Forever Association of Zimbabwe, etc.
- Civic Education for the process of a New Constitution by Referendum to repeal colonial laws which extend to the Defence Act, Police Act, Prison Act, Intelligence Services, etc., addressing the Triad of Electoral, Media, and Security Reforms -including Zimbabwe being Signatory to the Rome Statute by joining the International Criminal Court.
- Combat Corruption, coordinate with international agencies, and assist whistle-blowers. To date, there is unaccounted revenue exceeding 200 Billion unaccounted for in Zimbabwe. There have been series broadcast on Gold Mafia by Aljazeera,etc in addition to previously sublimed 15 Bil Diamond Revenue.
Crimes Against Humanity in Zimbabwe
The Zimbabwean Government under brutal military dictatorship and its affiliate cartel have perpetrated numerous crimes against humanity past 44 years without Justice including:
- Gukurahundi Massacres (1982-1987): Systematic killings on ethnic grounds of over 20,000 to 50,000, with mass graves being uncovered annually. Torture was inflicted enforcing displacement of over 500 000 Families.
- 2008 Post-Election Violence: Widespread violence, torture, and killings of opposition supporters, resulting in over 1000 deaths and 50,000 injuries.
- Operation Murambatsvina (2005): Forced eviction and demolition of homes, leaving over 700,000 people homeless and affecting 2.4 million others.
- 2017 Military Coup: Military takeover of the government, resulting in causalities and imposition of illegitimate rule.
- 2018 Military Shootings: Deadly shootings of Protesters by the Military, resulting in at least 12 deaths and 200 injuries, to date the Motlanthe Commission of Inquiry is unresolved.
- Political Violence and Torture: Widespread use of torture, rape, and enforced disappearances against opposition supporters, activists, and human rights defenders.
- Forced Labor and Child Labor: There is no Free Education in Zimbabwe, and most are school dropouts at an early stage enforcing such labor in mining and agricultural sectors.
- Displacement and Marginalization of Indigenous Peoples: Forced displacement and marginalization of indigenous peoples, including the San and Ndebele communities.
- Sexual Violence and Rape: Widespread use of sexual violence and rape as a tool of oppression, particularly during elections and against opposition supporters.
- Enforced Disappearances: Accumulative of over 5000 people, including activists, journalists, opposition supporters, and human rights defenders.
- Arbitrary Arrests and Detention: Infants, Teens, Students, Lawyers, and Persons with disability are victimized without the rule of law. The worst case is a one-year-old baby with its mother denied bail on fake allegations.
- Restrictions on Freedom of Expression and Assembly: Severe restrictions on freedom of expression, assembly, and association, including censorship and harassment of journalists and activists.
- Economic Exploitation and Corruption: Widespread corruption, economic mismanagement, and exploitation of natural resources, leading to poverty and inequality.
Electoral Observer Mission Reports
Zimbabwe's Electoral history is marred by violence, intimidation, and manipulation. Elections, Observed by International Missions [ Commonwealth, European Union, African Union, SADC, Carter Center, etc.] over the past 44 years including the last polls of 23-24 August 2023 Harmonized Elections which did not adhere to the Principles and Guidelines Governing Democratic Elections which was characterized by:
- Widespread voter suppression and disenfranchisement
- Violence and intimidation against opposition supporters and activists
- Bias and partisanship by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC)
- Manipulation of the Electoral process, including Ballot Stuffing and Falsification of Results
- Lack of Electoral, Media, and Security reforms with flawed Voter Registration, Delimitation, Nomination Court procedures, etc.
Specific Donation Goals:
1. $10: Supports the Translation of Human Rights Reports into local languages to increase accessibility.
2. $25: Funds a Human Rights Workshop for 10 Community Leaders.
3. $50: Supports the Production of a Documentary Highlighting Human Rights Abuses in Zimbabwe.
4. $100: Funds a month's worth of Food and Shelter for a Zimbabwean Refugee Family.
5. $250: Supports the Travel of a Zimbabwean Activist to an International Human Rights Conference.
6. $500: Funds a Human Rights Advocacy campaign targeting a specific issue in Zimbabwe.
7. $1,000: Supports the Establishment of a Community-Based Human Rights Documentation Center.
8. $2,500: Funds a Comprehensive Human Rights Report on Zimbabwe.
9. $5,000: Supports the engagement for the Global Solidarity event for Zimbabwean Human Rights Defenders.
10. $10,000: Funds a year's worth of Human Rights Education and Training Programs for Zimbabwean Civil Society.
