# Help Ziika Get Ear Tumor Surgery
Hi everyone,
We are raising funds to help our beloved dog Ziika, a sweet and outgoing West Highland White Terrier, get surgery for a tumor on her ear.
Recently, we noticed a bump on Ziika’s ear that was starting to bother her. We brought her to Small Paws Pet Hospital in San Francisco, where she had an examination, Fine Needle Aspirate (FNA), and cytology testing performed.
Thankfully, the results showed that the tumor appears to be benign. However, the veterinarian explained that this type of tumor can continue to grow larger and spread locally over time, especially in the delicate ear tissue, and surgery is being recommended to prevent future pain, irritation, and complications.
Ziika is the kind of dog who thinks every stranger is her best friend. She loves people, attention, cuddles, and saying hello to absolutely everyone she meets. She is truly part of our family, and seeing her uncomfortable has been heartbreaking for all of us, especially our children, who love her deeply.
Our family has already paid for Ziika’s diagnostic visit and testing because we wanted to make sure we acted quickly and responsibly for her care.
Over the past year, our family has also been navigating a long period of unemployment that significantly drained our savings, making this unexpected surgery especially difficult for us financially.
The estimated surgery costs include:
- Surgery and anesthesia
- Pre-operative blood work
- Medications and recovery care
- Pathology/testing
Even with careful budgeting, this has become more than we can comfortably manage on our own right now.
Any donation, share, or kind message truly helps. Our kids are even hoping to organize a small local fundraiser with Ziika because she loves meeting people so much.
Thank you for helping our little girl stay healthy and comfortable. We truly appreciate every bit of support.
