Hi my name is Pierce. Myself my wife Helen and our family adopted Ziggy (formerly Betty) from Molly Moos Westie Rescue. We were looking for a friend/partner in crime for our 19 month old Bichon LOKI.

That is exactly what she is. Unfortunately a couple of weeks ago while getting a routine check up for Ziggy. Our vet suspected a heart murmur and advised a scan.

Our worst fears were realised when the results came back that Ziggy has a PDA which is is a congenital heart defect where a fetal blood vessel fails to close after birth, leading to abnormal blood flow and potentially heart failure.

She needs laparoscopic surgery on the heart to ultimately save her life. We found the cost to be €2500.

Unfortunately our insurance for Ziggy will not cover the procedure. 

Ziggy has not had a good start to life and we want to give her the best chance at a great long life with our family.
