✈️ Help Ziggy Cross the Ocean to Be Reunited With His Human

Donation protected
Hello dear animal lovers,
We’re reaching out to ask for your help in reuniting Ziggy, a gentle 11-year-old dog, with his beloved human, Ulric. Right now, an ocean separates them; but with your kindness, that distance can disappear.

A Story of Devotion Through Heartbreak
The past five years have sorely tested Ulric. When their mother was suddenly diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer, they had to leave Ziggy in the loving care of friends to make a sudden trip to France and assume caregiving responsibilities for their mother. They cared for her day and night, staying by her side in her final moments. When she passed, Ulric had to say goodbye alone, navigating grief, loss, sorting through her belongings, and navigating bureaucracy in isolation. By the time Ulric was ready to return, the pandemic struck, rendering travel complicated. This was further exacerbated by their grandfather who passed away. Covid also made shipping Ziggy all but impossible due to a pet cargo embargo in the US. Ulric now lives in Normandy, taking care of the family home, trying to chart a new path forward in life.

Ziggy: A Beloved Soul Waiting to Go Home
While Ulric was in France caring for family, Ziggy remained in Portland in the loving care of kind people who stepped up when Ulric couldn’t be there. He has been safe, cherished, and given wonderful care, including a wellness plan to keep him healthy and happy. But now, this arrangement is suddenly coming to an end, after another severe medical emergency destabilized Ziggy's current household. And now within just days, Ziggy urgently needs help to make the journey to France to be reunited with a loved one who can care for him.

At 11 years old, Ziggy deserves to spend his golden years curled up beside his best friend, not left behind with an uncertain future.

The Plan to Bring Ziggy Home
The best and safest option is to hire a professional pet relocation service, which costs about the same as Ulric flying to the U.S. themself, staying for 10 days, completing all the necessary paperwork, and flying back with Ziggy.

Here’s what it will take:
• Pet relocation service: $6,695
• International travel health certificate (+ USDA Endorsement): $700–800
• Temporary boarding while arrangements are made (about 2 weeks): ~$770 — Ziggy will need a safe place to stay while travel arrangements are finalized. If anyone in the Portland/Seattle area is able to foster him for about two weeks, it would mean the world to Ulric and could significantly reduce this cost. Even short-term care would be an incredible gift to help him on his journey home.
• Travel kennel for cargo: $150

Why Your Help Means Everything
This isn’t just about transporting a dog across the ocean. It’s about bringing family back together. Ziggy has always been Ulric’s baby. Your generosity can turn this difficult chapter into a beautiful new beginning, where Ziggy and Ulric are finally reunited, healing together, and creating new memories. Every contribution, big or small, brings Ziggy another step closer to home. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for reading their story and helping make this reunion possible.
