Ziggy is doing great, we were able to cover all of our vet bills thanks to all of you amazing generous people. Thanks a million ......... Ziggy came home Saturday Oct 17, he is doing very well at home so far, and he is taking his meds like a champ!! The final bills, including updating his water source and diet, was just under $2000. ......... Over the last week or so we had been noticing Ziggy struggle in the litterbox, only being able to pee very small amounts and spending a very long time straining to do so. On October 14th Ziggy was brought to the emergency hospital where the vet was able to expel some urine from Ziggy, it was tested and the results showed some crystals. The vet prescribed Ziggy pain medication and an alpha-blocker to help relieve the pain and swelling, and increase urination. This initial visit cost $220.
Ziggy came back home with us the same evening, he was given his meds, and his mood seemed to improve a bit. Over the next day, we closely monitored Ziggy at the litterbox, but there was no improvement. By the evening of October 15th, he had vomited his medication, and was visibly bloody, he was meowing in pain and was laying flat and breathing heavily. We brought Ziggy back to the emergency hospital where he was assessed to be completely blocked, and also had a low heart murmur. X-rays were taken of Ziggy and they confirmed that he does not have bladder stones, and they took a sample of his blood to run. A $730 deposit was given at this time. Overnight the vet gave Ziggy IV fluids, pain relief injections, and a catheter to drain the obstruction. 
Morning of October 16th, Ziggy is resting comfortably in his kennel with IV fluids, his kidney numbers are up, and the catheter will remain until this evening. He will be able to come home tomorrow morning (Oct 17th) as long as he manages to pee on his own. This additional stay is approximately $900. If Ziggy does not improve it will be an additional $300 for each additional 24 hours until he can pee on his own.

Ziggy is 2.5 years old, he is a very playful and loving cat. He has an older cat sister, Gucci (7 years) and a new puppy sister Tika (8 mo). Ziggy is the fun outgoing cat that brings these 3 pets together. He loves to climb, chase anything that moves, wreak havoc, chill in the funniest positions, and get himself into sticky situations. He has several dog traits, like rolling over and asking for belly rubs, and greeting you at the door when you come home. Ziggy has such a huge personality, we all (including his sisters) cannot wait to welcome him back. He is very missed at home.
