Help Homeless Ziggi Get Healthy

Hi, I’m Ziggi. I'm a 4-6 year-old male Chihuahua. I've been  living on the streets of LA, homeless, and without an owner.  Some kind humans recently found me, hiding under a car, scared and pretty beat up. These folks are now dedicated to fixing me up and find me the perfect forever home :) 

However, when they took me to the vet they found some serious problems, and suspect my health has been neglected most of my life.   They've found:

- I have a heart murmur that needs a cardiac workup including an ultrasound and some pretty costly blood-work.  Once that's completed my vet will know if I need additional procedures or not.

- I’m not neutered…yet!  This is really embarrassing for me to share with you guys, but I have an undescended testicle, which means I'll need a more expensive, exploratory surgery to find and remove it :(

- I have a really bad skin condition that requires costly medicine and special baths.  So far its working, I'm feeling better and better each day (thank goodness, because I was so itchy before!)  

- Last but not least, I have some pretty dirty teeth that need cleaning.  

So far, those are the biggies that need to be addressed sooner rather than later.  It's been estimated that these medical costs will come to about $3,000.  

This is all very stressful and scary, but my foster humans tell me I’m the sweetest, friendliest Chihuahua they’ve ever met, and they're going to make sure I get the best possible care, but they need your help.

Some of my favorite things to do are:  smiling, sunning, rolling over for belly rubs, long walks, window watching, naps, nibbles, giving kisses and getting lots and lots of love!
