Help with 14 and 16yr old sisters' college tuition
Hi. I am Zi and I am a sixteen year old college student entering my sophomore year at Bard College at Simon's Rock, the only accredited Early College in the United States. Now my fourteen year old sister, Grace is getting ready to join me at Simon’s Rock. I originally learned of the college in 2018 from a family friend who is an educator and in whom I had confided my desire to start college in spite of the refusal of the local institutions to accept me. With her encouragement and the support of my parents I applied and was accepted. In my first semester last fall, I earned a place on the dean’s list.
I am interested in art and linguistics and Grace is a flautist, scientist and avid naturalist. She is also an excellent singer. We are both self taught artists, but Grace had her first art instruction last spring at the Niagara County Community College where she took courses in Drawing, Ceramics, Math, Spanish, and Martial Arts as an unmatriculated student. She’s a straight-A student. Grace and I were home-schooled by our parents who are both Caribbean immigrants. They made sure that we received a good education in a supportive environment.
Although we both have partial scholarships for next year’s tuition, we are still short of a total of $19,337 for the coming year, so we are asking for donations. Please give what you can. We are so happy to be able to pursue our dreams on our schedule and we appreciate your support.
We are both artists and will give digital copies of a piece of original art to all donors as a token of appreciation for your help.
