Meet Zhenya — a 15-year-old girl growing up in a radiated country. The very environment in which she lives has already adversely affected her health. Zhenya suffers from a thyroid gland disease which affects her heart and creates unstable blood pressure.
Like many in her situation, Zhenya dreams of coming to America. Her dream is to live in an environment where she can heal her radiated body and expand her education. Coming to America means eliminating her constant exposure to the radiation of her homeland and replacing it with non-radiated food, clean air and water.
Through the efforts of her parents, a host family in New Iberia, Louisiana and a sponsor school, Zhenya’s dream has the potential to come true. Her parents are willing to give their daughter this opportunity for a healthier, potentially longer life. The host family is willing to give her a home, food and essentials. And Episcopal School of Acadiana, one of the few local schools to participate in the F1 student visa program, is willing to give her a place in their curriculum.
All is in place except funding for the school. As a private Christian school, ESA has an annual cost of $20,000. It is our goal to send Zhenya to school at ESA for four years.
We are asking for your help to make Zhenya’s dream come true! All financial donations to this fund will go directly to the school to pay for tuition and other school expenses. Your help will give Zhenya the opportunity to heal and educate herself. Give Zhenya that chance — donate today!
