On October 25th, my friend Zheng Tang Zhi Jiang and his girlfriend were involved in a severe hit-and-run accident while driving together.
A speeding vehicle hit them hard from behind in a construction zone and then fled the scene, leaving both of them injured and their car severely damaged. The impact was extremely violent, as seen in the images and video.
Unfortunately, things got even worse:
- The other driver had no insurance
- Police confirmed it was a hit-and-run
- Zheng Tang only had liability coverage, meaning no damages are covered
- His girlfriend was injured and is still recovering
- The car, though repairable, suffered over $18,000 in damage
- He took the car to the repair shop thinking insurance would cover it, but now he is fully responsible for the entire amount
Without the car, he cannot work or generate income
Although Zheng Tang is a TLC-licensed driver, he was not working at the time of the accident. He was simply driving with his girlfriend when their lives were suddenly turned upside down.
This fundraiser will help them:
- Pay the $18,000 repair cost
- Cover medical expenses
- Handle basic living costs during recovery
- Get back on their feet after this unexpected crisis
