Zeus is my 11-year-old rescue dog, and he truly is my heart and soul. We found each other at a time when he needed a human, and I didn’t realize how much I needed a best friend. Over the years, Zeus has shown me the true meaning of unconditional love, unwavering loyalty, and the joy that comes from having a companion who is always there for you. Anyone who’s ever met Zeus has fallen in love with him instantly—he just wants to make new friends and spread happiness wherever he goes.

Recently, Zeus was rolling around on our hardwood floors at home and unfortunately aggravated an old hip injury he got a couple of years ago while escaping with my roommate’s dog. This time, the pain caused him to try to stand up quickly, but he lost his balance and fell backward with enough force to cause a mild acute fracture on his c4 vertebrae. While conservative care is an option, his veterinarian found a specialist at H-Town Veterinary Specialists who can create a temporary splint and a custom molded cast to help Zeus heal properly and prevent this from happening again.

I’ve already spent a lot at his vet and have some help, but with bills and life expenses, I’m in a tough spot. While I could eventually gather the rest of the money, it would take weeks—time Zeus doesn’t have to wait for the care he needs.
