I'm a full-time student working two jobs, and my car has been a constant challenge. I bought it a year and a half ago with my own money. I was previously commuting via bus and train but my fellow LA commuters know it’s nearly impossible and as a young woman it just isn’t safe. It had been breaking down every other month. I've already paid for major repairs like a new engine, new tires, and fixing motor mounts, but now it's broken again. With finances being tight, I'm faced with the tough choice of either paying for another repair or trying to get a new car.

Reliable transportation is essential for me. I gig on the west side, go to school in Pasadena, work in Pomona and Glendora, and live in Upland. Without a dependable car, it's nearly impossible to keep up with my jobs and education. The funds raised will help me get a new car and cover transportation costs, so I can stay on track and continue working toward my goals.

I realize this is a time of financial stress for everyone, and I'm in the same boat. I'm asking for mutual aid from community members. I will also be pulling money from my 401k to help cover costs.
