Friends and family…
It’s unfortunate events that seem to bring us together on GoFundMe pages. My brother has recently suffered one such event.
On Sunday evening (12/1/24), Zeo was home when he heard a popping noise. Upon investigation, he saw flames outside his house. He ran outside with an extinguisher, but it was already in the eaves of his house. Because he had already disconnected hoses in prep for freezing weather this week, he could not fight the flames. He ran back for his cell phone and wallet. This in itself was almost a fatal mistake due to the intense smoke already inside. But he and the dogs escaped without injury. His wife was not home at the time.
Emergency services were called, but the house burned to the ground. Zeo has the clothes on his back, Renee had a change of clothes with her. They have their cars and dogs and that’s all.
At this time (12/3), he is still not sure how the fire started, but suspects a mouse may have chewed some wiring.
My own insurance company estimates a loss of contents alone in a 3-bedroom home to be $30-40,000. We have no idea right now what their loss is, so I am making a conservative request to get them back on their feet.
We know extra expenses at the holidays is not an easy thing and it's difficult to even ask, but if anyone can help them out, it would very much be appreciated.
Thank you, happy holidays and God bless you.
Kim (Phillpotts) Tinsley
