We recently found out that a dear friend of our family, Zena, has been living in her car in Riverside, having lost her job due to Covid. Zena is the birth mother of our two daughters, and we are doing everything we can think of to help her through this extremely difficult season in her life.

To make her situation even worse, someone ran into her car at an intersection, doing major damage to the two passenger doors, breaking the windows on that side, and cracking the windshield. She patched it up with duct tape and cardboard, but that doesn’t keep out the cold at night. The local body shop says it’s a total loss, and so the insurance company won’t give her $ unless she relinquishes the car, which of course she can’t do.

An auto body guy we know will repair her car for $2000. And we have someone who has offered to put Zena up in a hotel during the repairs.

Anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated, and will make a significant impact in Zena’s life.
