Hello ! If you don't know me, I'm zena and I'm queer and non-binary. For as long as I can remember, I have experienced gender dysphoria and have wanted to get, what is commonly known as, top surgery! This is something that a lot of transmasc people get and it's something I wish to get too!
At the moment, I use a binder and bind my chest everyday as I cannot leave my house without it and, whilst I bind in a completely safe way, this can be very uncomfortable and i'm slightly worried about any lasting effects this will have one my health. I'm currently on the wait list for the gender identity clinic with the NHS but I haven't had my initial consultation appointment yet and I potentially won't for a couple more years or so, and even once that hurdle has been tackled it will likely be some more years before I do get to the point of having top surgery! because of this I have chosen to raise funds privately for the procedure.
I have done extensive research and am looking to have surgery with Dr. Andrew Mellington who specialises in top surgery and I believe will achieve the results I am exactly after, bringing me a sense of comfort in my own body I've longed for for a great deal of my life! This surgery would absolutely change my life for the better in terms of how I will both physically and mentally feel within myself once I get this off my chest! The whole procedure itself will cost me about £7,500 so I am doing as much as I can to raise funds myself through selling my artwork and working full-time and just anything I can think of so please know I'm also working really hard to make this possible!
I know this is a lot of money to ask for, and I absolutely am not expectant of it! But anything you can spare to give would be greatly and wholeheartedly appreciated and, if nothing else, I would really be grateful if you could share this fundraiser with others as that would help me so much too! Anything you can do though, will get me closer to being able to have my consultation appointment and getting my surgery sooner! Thank you so so much and have a lovely day!
