Help Zelda Recover After Hit-and-Run Accident

My dog, my best friend Zelda, got hit by a car last Wednesday, April 15. It was 7:55 pm. I looked both ways before crossing the street, and halfway in, a car came around the corner extremely fast, running over Zelda and dragging her 20 feet. The driver hit & ran, and I paid $25,000 in medical bills, with hopes to keep her alive.

The first four days they didn’t know if she was going to make it. Finally, on days 5 and 6, she started eating & even stood up & walked very slow with a sling. I couldn’t afford any more medical care, so I took her out of the hospital yesterday. Today she’s been breathing heavily, which is not a good sign. She suffered from internal bleeding, had her spleen removed, had bladder surgery, and was on fentanyl for pain. Her abdomen was opened completely for them to complete the surgery. Her urinating is not consistent, so she’s leaking and dribbling pee on her incision.

Zelda’s recovery has been very slow, and she requires more medical gisits that I can no longer afford. I would deeply appreciate donations to keep Zelda alive and help me get back on my feet. I had to move out of my apartment because we lived on the third floor, and Zelda can no longer walk.

I’m praying every day that she gets better and we won’t need to go to the hospital anymore.
