Our sister Zelda Kachere is 28 years old.
She was diagnosed with Giant cell tumours on her spine in January 2021, this has resulted in Zelda loosing function of both her legs and experiencing severe constant pain of both legs and her back. Zelda is unable to walk nor reposition herself in bed, she is now relying on her elderly mother for toileting , bathing and repositioning
For those who know Zelda, she is an extra ordinary person. Loving, caring,hardworking and a courageous being. This fate came at a time when Zelda was looking forward to go to college.
Since January, Zelda has been in and out of hospital in Zimbabwe. The tumours continues to grow bigger worsening her pain.
The neurosurgeons who have been attending to Zelda at Parirenyatwa Hospital aren't able to operate on her to remove the tumors due to unavailability of resources at the hospital.
Surgery is the only hope for Zelda to walk again and be independent.
We are reaching out to everyone reading this post, to kindly assist with financial support for Zelda to have her surgery done.
Surgeons cost , and hospital costs for the operation to be done at a private hospital is approximately 10 000 usd.
Zelda is a young woman who is lying in bed at home right now, seeing days ticking by. She is scared her whole life she will be in that bed, she is hopeless and getting depressed.
