Zelda was Tyler's first cat, and she changed his life in ways he never expected. He adopted her ten years ago in 2016 during a difficult time, when he was feeling lonely and his apartment didn’t allow dogs. He went to the shelter just to pet some animals and lift his spirits, but as he walked down the hallway, this beautiful cat meowed at him and reached her paw through the cage. The moment he met her, he knew she was meant to be with him. She’s been his companion ever since, his original girlie, and the reason he discovered his love for cats.
It could even be said that this moment was the reason Tyler and I ended up together. The first message he ever sent me was asking about my own cat and the rest is history.
About two months ago, Zelda developed a sore on her face that wouldn’t heal. After a visit to the vet, we learned she has a dental abscess that has pushed its way out through her cheek. The vet explained that without urgent dental work, the infection could return, spread, and even lead to heart disease. We live paycheck to paycheck and could barely afford the initial vet visit. The cost of the procedure is far beyond what we can manage right now, but we can’t imagine losing her when she still has so much love to give.
Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this, let alone donate. If you save our baby we will be forever grateful. I know she is already older, but we would give anything to have a few more years with her. We already lost one cat this year—Izzy was 22 and passed peacefully after a long, happy life. We desperately want the same for our precious Zeldi Loo, and your support would mean the world to both of us.
