Hi, my name is Morgan, and my husband's name is Matt. This is our dog, Zeke.
In December 2025, we discovered a mass near Zeke’s tail. What started as concern quickly became something much bigger. On New Year’s Eve, Zeke underwent surgery to remove the mass, and shortly after, we received the diagnosis we were hoping we’d never hear — a Grade 3 (high-grade) mast cell tumor. Cancer.
As soon as we were able, we took Zeke to a veterinary oncology specialist to understand what we were facing and what options we had. He recently underwent an ultrasound to determine whether the cancer had spread, and we were incredibly relieved to learn that it has not. That news gave us hope — but our journey is not over yet.
Although the cancer has not spread, cancerous cells remain, as Zeke’s surgical margins were not clear. Because of this, his oncology team strongly recommends IV chemotherapy to give him the best chance at long-term health and more good years ahead.
Zeke’s treatment plan includes eight weeks of IV chemotherapy — four weeks of weekly treatments, followed by four weeks of treatments every other week. The cost for the chemotherapy treatments alone is $5,000. This does not include additional care, follow-up visits, or any future treatments that may be needed.
After his treatment is complete, Zeke will be reassessed, and together — myself, my husband, and his veterinary team — we will discuss next steps and create a plan moving forward based on how he responds.
Zeke is more than just our dog — he’s family. He has been with us through so many chapters of our lives, and we are committed to doing everything we can to fight for him, just as he has always shown up for us. Any support, whether through a donation or by sharing Zeke’s story, means more than we can express. Thank you for helping us give Zeke the care he needs and the chance to keep enjoying the life he loves.
Zeke's blurb:
Hi, I’m Zeke. I’m a 7-year-old pitbull, and I love to play, snuggle, and be as close to my people as possible. When I get excited, I do what my family calls my “paw-paw dance,” popping my front paws up and down without even realizing it. My favorite place in the world is our bed — especially when the heated mattress pad is on. I show my love by leaning in, giving kisses, and greeting my people with a wagging tail every time they come home. I’m still full of life and love, and I’m fighting hard to keep doing the things that make me happy. Thank you for caring about me, for sharing my story, and for helping my family take care of me.
