Help Zeke Fight Cancer

This is our precious son, Ezekiel Edwards (Zeke). He is 14 and diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a very rare form of bone cancer. I (Dad) took him into the ER at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri on January 13 because of a severe pain in his side. A CT scan that day revealed a tumor near his left lung. The next week, Zeke and I traveled to St Jude Children's Cancer Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, where we remained for a month. He underwent surgery there, during which they removed the tumor, a section of one of his ribs, and part of his left lung. After he recovered from his surgery we returned to Springfield to begin 7 months of aggressive chemotherapy.

In addition to the overwhelming grief and anxiety this has brought us, our family is in financial crisis. We have no savings. I did not have enough paid vacation time to cover my entire absence from work while taking care of Zeke in Memphis. This left me short in taking care of my wife and two other children. Soon after returning home, my employer of 10 years cut my hours from full time to part time, and my company's future is now uncertain at best. Zeke is undergoing 7 months of chemotherapy. He has frequent hospital stays lasting up to 6 days at a time, plus many clinic visits. He will need an unknown number of future trips to St. Jude in Memphis. We are struggling to make ends meet while trying to focus on taking care of and being with our son in his time of need. Any help, whether prayers or donations, is greatly appreciated.
