Help Zech's Family Navigate Life Without Him

My name is Kristia Henderson, and I’m writing on behalf of my daughter during this extremely tragic time for her and her children. It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of my son-in-law, Zech Guarniere (Mason). He was hit by a side-by-side ATV that came around a blind curve at the top of a hill at a speed unsafe for that location. My son-in-law was stopped on his dirt bike and pulled over on the right side of the trail. He was hit head-on and lost his life due to the other driver's blatant disregard for the safety of others. Zech leaves behind his wife, who has been by his side for over 15 years, and their children: Daniel (7), Liam (5), Jaxon (1 1/2), and Mia (8 months), who are all now facing significant hardship. He was a devoted and hardworking family man. His family was his top priority, but he always made the time to help his friends or anyone in need.

When I first met Zech, he was leaving my house on a bicycle to go to one of his two jobs that he worked at that time. I don’t remember everything we talked about, but I just remember thinking what a polite and responsible young man he was and thought to myself that I would love for my daughter to date him. Three years later, in 2009, I got my wish. The two of them were soulmates. They grew up together and have built a beautiful life together. They had a love that most can only dream of. They were each other's everything. They loved each other so strong and unconditionally. I never had to worry about my daughter with Zech. I knew she would always be safe and taken care of. He really has made a positive impact on everyone that he’s crossed paths with. He will be terribly missed by many.

Zech was a bubbly, selfless, and positive person. He touched so many lives, helped others without hesitation, and was admired for his positivity and kindness. His family and friends remember him fondly as someone they could rely on and enjoyed being around. Zech worked for EZ Trees for several years and is well-known throughout Vallejo.

Zech was the sole provider for his family. My daughter has been a stay-at-home mom for the past 7 years. We have created this campaign to offer support to his wife, Samantha, and four children who now have to learn how to navigate this world without their father.
