Help Zebia Become a Surgeon
Donation protected
This is Zebia. On the left you see her as I did a decade ago when she was one of my students in Uganda. Hard working and ambitious. On the right is a photo of the incredible person she is today. She has worked so hard to follow her dreams and has been accepted into the surgical program at Kampala International University! She is ultimately planning to specialize in OB surgery.
She is there attending her first semester as we speak. Upon arrival she found out that the government assistance she was counting on to pay her tuition is no longer available. If she can't find assistance she will have to drop out after this semester.
She's going to need about $1600 per semester. The program will be 6 years, 4 for general surgery, 2 more for OBGYN specialization. I would love to pay this for her but we already pay tuition for 4 other students and just can't afford it. If we have to raise money piece by piece each semester it's going to get exhausting. Furthermore, it will be stressful for her to have to deal with uncertainty each semester.
So here's where I need ideas and shares. Do you know of any individuals, groups, or organizations that might be willing to donate funding? Doctors or surgical groups? What are you ideas? Please share!!!
Zebia is a brilliant, hard working person. As you can see from the photo I took of her as a child, she has always dreamed of becoming a doctor. She has worked tirelessly to maintain excellent grades and done everything within her power to pursue her goal.
I really want her to succeed. She deserves this chance. I want to help our small mountain school produce it's first Doctor!
