Hello friends and family! Today we're reaching out to support our incredible friend, Ze. Over the last year, Ze and her family have been doing their best to survive everything, from bombings to displacement. Ze has written a letter to you below to explain her situation.

Hello guys

Many of you might know me from different places (tiktok/X/Instagram) from my videos about Sudan.

My name is omnia and I’m 21 years old. I had recently graduated and currently experiencing war. I had been displaced 4 times by the war and my family and I lost everything we own.

After our first displacement we started a life in another city and my dad found a job, and we had a relatively stable life. Unfortunately when our city got attacked and we got displaced again our family once again lost everything we own and our lives got destroyed again.

I’m an only child of two parents who both are above 60+ and struggle with chronic diseases. We have been searching for jobs tirelessly for the past months in and outside Sudan and unfortunately we haven’t been able to find any. My dad’s family are still in warzones unable to fend for themselves.

Making this decision has been the hardest decision of my life. As someone that grew up financially stable, had a promising future until last year it feels very awkward and humiliating to do this but I’m left with no choice. My parents are unable to live in those circumstances anymore and if we don’t move we will starve. It’s not about me anymore it’s about my whole family.

Our house in Khartoum has been looted off everything, our cars got looted, our life assets got looted. We are standing on nothing.

They’ve worked their whole lives to provide me with a comfortable life and were planning to retire but now they’re starting from zero all over again but they’re too old for this. It’s my time to take over and unfortunately as someone who just graduated and lack experience my efforts of finding jobs is futile.

We have decided to create this fundraising to fund my family’s escape to another country. I also want to help my family and friends in war-zones and other people in my community.

We have decided to raise 25K USD through my friend’s organization and we will keep you updated in the journey.

Staying in Sudan have become a direct danger to my life due to my visibility online as it puts a huge target on my back and I can no longer live like this. I want to keep advocating for Sudan and be transparent without fear of abduction or censorship.
