Hello everyone! My name is Zaynah Afsheen, and I am turning 11 on the 28th of May. How exciting !
This year, I wanted to celebrate a big party with all my friends As last year I couldn’t celebrate during the lockdown period. But then I decided to postpone my birthday celebration and rather raise funds for covid-19 relief. I planned to do this because I have been hearing about all the sad and heartbreaking stories about different countries and people suffering in Covid-19. So many people are dying for not getting proper treatment or not being able to enter the hospital to get just one hospital bed. I have seen videos where people are sitting outside hospitals waiting hours before even getting the chance to go inside for proper treatment. For covid-19 treatment, people need lots of money to buy medicines. So, I have thought not to take any gift from my parents and to collect funds to donate to some charities.
We will give the money collected to different places in Bangladesh . Firstly, we will donate some food to a slum in Dhaka city because they can’t earn money properly during the lockdown period to buy food. Secondly, we will be giving some money to a hospital where they treat covid’19 patients who can’t afford it. Lastly, the rest of the amount we will donate to an orphanage. Those children have no parents and the money will help them to survive.
