Help Zashary Torres get to Barcelona!

Hey family and friends! 
 
As many of you know I have been accepted to study abroad in beautiful Barcelona this coming fall semester. It has been my dream ever         since I was a little girl to travel the world, and I am so blessed to have this opportunity. I have also been accepted to intern with MBE Global as a Sales Intern where I will assist with creating partnerships with Latin American countries. At this internship I hope to expand my               knowledge of international education and business, financial literacy and world cultures. I will then apply this to my overall life goal of          providing access to financial literacy for women of color around the world. 

I just finished my pre-trip checklist and am patiently waiting for my August 31st departure date. 

I made this GoFundMe because unfortunately, due to the effects of COVID, I did not receive the scholarships that I applied for that would help fund my trip. Receiving    the scholarships would have not only covered the complete tuition but would have also been a great help for me because I pay for school    out of pocket. My total tuition cost is estimated at $25,000 and I will only receive $7,000 in assistance. Unfortunately, if I am unable to pay for this semester, my final graduating semester will be delayed. 

My parents instilled in me at a very young age the value of community and looking out for those that have helped you along the way. I am a first-generation Afro-Latinx American student and the phrase “it takes a village” couldn’t be truer. With the support of my community, I        can achieve anything. My favorite quote recently has been “I will see you at the top, because the bottom is too crowded, and I’m not looking down unless I’m bringing you up with me.” Many people say the top is lonely but that is because most people confuse others having power  as equaling less power for oneself. There is more than enough for everyone to get a piece of wealth. I want to be the gate of access to this   piece. I will pour back into my community that has fed me.
