I am raising funds for Zariyah's Medical Expenses not covered by insurance; A wheelchair accessible vehicle, travel expenses for services provided in states not currently accessible in her state of residence, and physical therapy equipment not covered by her insurance. Zariyah is a Miracle. After a full-term healthy pregnancy, something went wrong at delivery, and Zariyah was facing death at and after birth. She was resuscitated. Placed on a cooling blanket, Ventilators, Breathing Machines, and Life support/ECMO. The medical team at her NICU said there is nothing else they can do and was going to let her die. I said, "No. Not only is Zariyah going to live. She is going to walk. I will bring her back when she is walking. Give her my breast milk and let me touch my child." Zariyah is now 3 years of age. She just started having seizures again at 2 years of age. She is Quadriplegic. She has been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, and other diagnosis. But she is now 3, and this week we started Physical Therapy Intensives. She took her first step in the Gait Trainer this past Monday, February 13th, which her amazing Physical Therapist video taped on our behalf to try to help us convince the rehab clinic to provide authorization for the equipment she needs. It is still a fight for her good, but we have not given up. I am still working towards obtaining a Leckey Gait Trainer for her and other equipment, therapies, therapist, and services that she needs to facilitate her continuous progress. Her appointments are now 5 days a week, where I must also be in attendance with her as I am her sole provider and caretaker. I am the mother of two, a 13 year old and a 3 year old, and historically for numerous year, I have always been the Giver in every situation, helping many Adults and Children in need. For the first time, at the age of 36, someone told me to now let people help me and set up a GoFundMe for Zariyah.
