If you looked in the dictionary at the word “determined” it would show a photo of Zarita.
Shes brave, she’s motivated, she’s fierce; but behind this strong exterior, She is fighting the greatest fight. The fight to live out her remaining days with love, fun and her family at her side.
In June 2023, Zarita received a hip replacement on the NHS. She smashed her mobility goals and the future looked bright.
Her health, however was deteriorating. With weight loss, fatigue and anaemia being her main symptoms.
In September 2023 Zarita was admitted to hospital for weeks of tests, MRI scans and transfusions.
Zarita was sadly diagnosed with terminal cancer
This deadly disease originated in her Pancreas, but it has since been confirmed, that it has sadly spread to numerous organs, and her spine.
This cancer is not curable
On 11th October 2023, Zarita was advised that without treatment, she was facing a life expectancy of 3-6 months.
On 16th October 2023, Zarita met with a top consultant at George Elliot Hospital to discuss treatment to “control” the cancer.
(*Its now been confirmed that Zarita will start chemotherapy on 30th October 2023)
This aggressive treatment will be intrusive, but Zarita is determined to fight.
For how many “rounds” is unsure, but with the support of her Mother (Margaret) 3 daughters (Brogan, Sienna and Tahlia) and grand daughter (Summer) she’s stepping into the ring, more focussed and determined than ever.
One of Zaritas passions was “The Miners Arms”. A local pub in Nuneaton that she managed for 4 years. When the pub was advertised for sale, the dream of owning the pub almost became a reality. With this recent cancer diagnosis, Zarita will now lose her home and employment/income.
The owners of the pub have vowed to support Zarita (financially) in securing a new home, but this is just one more devastating blow Zarita is trying to overcome.
Since her diagnosis, Zarita has talked openly about “her bucket list, places she wants to visit, and even her funeral expectations”
Accepting her mortality with grace and dignity.
We hope that with the love and support of her family and friends, we can offer some financial stability, to her and her family in this uncertain time.
Thank you
