A good friend's pup, Zara, recently fell and injured her leg, resulting in an open fracture of metacarpals two, three and four. After expensive x-rays, the vet decided that Zara needs surgery from an orthopedic surgeon as soon as possible. The surgery alone is quoted to cost around $8,000. Zara is a sweet pup that we all love dearly. It breaks our hearts to see her hopping around on three legs and in pain. If we wait to fix the open fracture, surgery will cost a minimum $12,000 so Zara's mom has been busy researching veterinary surgeons in the Midwest and applying for CareCredit. We are excited to share that a surgeon in Flint can work on Zara tonight. The funds raised here will help pay for Zara's x-rays, emergency surgery, and aftercare (repeat radiographs and several bandage changes).
