Help Zara Get Back on Her Paws

UPDATE: Currently in Post Op Week THREE and doing well! Making progress. Putting more weight on the left leg and getting more strength back each day. Has the temptation to run around and jump on occasion but keeping her under strict watch and in her pen when I’m at work. ☺️ moving along slowly but surely.

Hello, friends and fellow animal lovers!

My name is Shika and I’m reaching out with a heart full of hope and love for my sweet 4-year-old Shiba Inu, Zara. Zara isn't just a pet; she's family, my best friend and the brightest spot in my day.

Recently, Zara had to undergo TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery on her left hind leg. This procedure was necessary to repair a crucial ligament in her knee, but it's been a challenging journey. Despite the pain and the long road to recovery, Zara has been unbelievably strong and resilient. Her spirit remains unbroken, and her friendly nature continues to shine every day.

Zara is truly the friendliest Shiba Inu you'll ever meet. She has a way of making everyone smile with her playful antics and loving snuggles. Whether she's greeting neighbors on our daily walks or playing with her favorite squeaky toys, Zara's joy is infectious. She has brought so much happiness into my life and the lives of everyone she meets.

The surgery, along with the follow-up care and rehabilitation, has come with significant expenses. As much as it is outside of my comfort zone to ask for help, I want to ensure Zara gets the best possible care and support during her recovery. That's why I've created this GoFundMe campaign—to give Zara the chance to heal fully and get back to her happy, playful self.

Your support will go directly towards covering the costs of Zara's surgery (~$6,000 in total), medications and imaging (~$500) and physical therapy sessions.
