Hi, my name is Stacey, and I’m reaching out with a very heavy heart.

This is Zara. She’s a beautiful Great Dane who spent over three years in rescue care before finally finding her forever home with me. When I adopted her, I promised her that she’d never have to go through the heartbreak of being surrendered again. She’s not just a dog—she’s family, my best friend, and the sweetest soul.

Zara is now a senior dog, and her rescue simply doesn’t have the means to keep her indefinitely if she is returned. The sad reality is that senior dogs have a very hard time being adopted, and the chances of her finding another loving home are very slim. The thought of her losing her home now, after waiting so long for one, is devastating.

Unfortunately, I’m facing an impossible situation. My condo building has informed me that I must rehome Zara within the next month. If I can’t move into a pet-friendly place, I’ll be forced to surrender her back to rescue. Knowing her age, her past, and the limited resources of the rescue, this could mean she spends the rest of her life in care—or worse, never finds another home.

I want nothing more than to give Zara the stable, loving home she deserves for the rest of her days. To do that, I urgently need help covering the cost of moving into a pet-friendly place where she will be safe and welcome.

I’ve been doing my best to get back on my feet after a difficult year. I was out of work for about 12 months, and during that time I had to rely on my savings just to get by. I finally started working again in April, but with my savings depleted, I don’t have the extra funds set aside for a sudden move. That’s why I’m reaching out for help—to cover the upfront costs of moving so Zara and I can stay together in a safe, pet-friendly home.

Last month’s rent: ~$2,000

Moving costs (truck + supplies): ~$300
