On September 8th, Zane Simon survived a catastrophic brainstem bleed.

Zane is a loving husband and proud dad of three. The day before he was rushed to the hospital, he was outside in the backyard building a new playground for his family to enjoy. He’s the dad who never misses a recital, the husband who brags about how his wife, Debi, radiates love and light (he’s right), and he works hard every day to provide for his family. Now, he needs our help.

That morning, Zane woke up unable to feel his right side and so dizzy he could barely stand. At the hospital, doctors discovered he’d had a brainstem bleed — something most people don’t survive. He was airlifted to Phoenix for emergency care, where tests showed this wasn’t even his first bleed, just the first one with obvious symptoms.

By a miracle, Zane is still here, and it appears he’s avoided lasting damage. But he’s been in the hospital for over a week as his doctors run more tests and keep him under close watch. His recovery will take time, and right now his only focus should be healing.

The problem is, life doesn’t stop. Zane is the family’s main provider, and with him out of work their finances are under enormous strain. Disability and leave programs take weeks to kick in, but the bills are already here: medical costs on top of groceries, the rent, and everyday expenses.

This fundraiser is here to give his family some breathing room; to cover the essentials while Zane recovers, and to help ease some of the medical burden ahead.
