My name is Zane Daniel Burgos, and I am currently a junior at South High School. As a college-bound and proud South High Spartan, I am deeply involved in my school community through ASB as Vice President, Track, Cross Country, Band, Spartan Market, Drumline, UCSB Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP), CSUB TRIO, National Honors Society, Ms3 (Robotics), Principal Advisory Council, and Interact Club. I have also taken a wide range of advanced courses and enrolled in dual enrollment classes because I am passionate about my education, determined to pursue a career in civil engineering.

Recently, I was admitted to UC San Diego’s COSMOS summer 2026 program for the cluster: Engineering Design and Control of Kinetic Sculptures. This is an incredible opportunity for me to be able to leave Bakersfield and put myself in a college setting with other intelligent students. I believe that being exposed to new opportunities has helped me to grow and obtain skills, both personally and academically.

While some fees are covered, I still need to pay for the remaining cost of the program. Your support will help make this dream a reality and allow me to take full advantage of this life-changing experience.
