On February 22 Zander Carl Woodard made an early appearance at only 33 weeks gestation and weighing only 3lbs 8oz and 17inches long. Zander also had some serious complications that required surgery to attach his esophagus to his stomach. He currently is on a ventilator has a feeding tube and a chest tube. Needless to say these young parents are dealing with a lot and they are in the NICU for the foreseeable future. They have no transportation of their own or income to pay for food and other necessities to keep them going while Zander recovers and grows strong enough to go home. They are looking at a pretty extended stay as her due date was April 12 and most times babies are in the NICU until their due dates. If you can help in anyway it would be appreciated.
