Update: In Loving Memory of Zander
It is with unimaginable pain and shattered hearts that we share the update we prayed we would never have to write.
Zander passed away on July 6, 2025, at Children’s Hospital in Houston after bravely fighting for his life. He coded unexpectedly, and despite every effort to save him, our sweet boy is now resting in peace.
Zander was so strong. He fought harder than most adults ever could. He was brave, kind, and full of light. Our lives—and the lives of so many who loved him—are forever changed.

How You Can Still Help
We are now facing every parent’s worst nightmare: planning a funeral for our child. In addition to the heartbreak, we are also facing the unexpected financial burden of burial, memorial, and travel costs, on top of medical expenses already incurred.
We are still humbly asking for your help, now more than ever.
Your support will help cover:
• Funeral and burial expenses
• Memorial arrangements to honor Zander’s life
• Travel and lodging for family during this time
• Continued care for Zander’s little sister, Amelia, who is grieving the loss of her big brother
If you are unable to give financially, we ask that you continue praying for our family, especially for Amelia, as she navigates this grief alongside us.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
— Psalm 34:18
Thank you for loving Zander, for lifting us in prayer, and for walking with us through this unthinkable loss. We will never stop loving or remembering him.
Forever our warrior.
Forever #ZanderStrong
With love and deepest gratitude,
Zander’s Family

Help Us Fight for Zander’s Life
Our son Zander is just a child — but he’s already fighting the hardest battle of his life.
Zander has restricted cardiomyopathy, a life-threatening heart condition, and he’s been in the ICU for over a week. Yesterday, we received news no parent ever wants to hear: Zander is not currently eligible for a heart transplant due to extremely high pulmonary hypertension in his lungs.
As a family, we are shattered.
As parents, we are doing everything we can — but we need your help.
⸻
A Glimmer of Hope
There is still a chance to save our sweet boy.
His doctors are working to place him on something called a Berlin Heart pump — a temporary device that can help lower the dangerous pressure in his lungs. If it works, Zander could become eligible for a heart transplant.
But for this to happen, Zander needs to be transferred to Children’s Hospital in Houston, where he could stay for up to 3 months. He has been transferred as of July 4th 2025.
The doctors are working urgently to get him accepted and transported there.
We are praying that this next step gives him a second chance.
⸻
Our Family’s Reality
Our lives have turned upside down in a matter of days. Along with Zander, we are also caring for his younger sister, Amelia. She’s too little to fully understand what’s happening, but she knows her big brother is sick, and her world has changed too.
We’re trying to stay strong for both of our babies — splitting time between ICU visits, emergency calls, hospital meetings, and caring for Amelia, who misses her brother dearly.
We’re emotionally and physically exhausted, and the financial strain is growing quickly.
⸻
Why We’re Asking for Help
We never imagined we’d be here — asking for help like this — but right now we need our community more than ever.
Your donation will help us manage:
• Travel, lodging, and meals while Zander is hospitalized in Houston
• Lost income from time away from work
• Amelia’s care and stability through all of this
• Any out-of-pocket medical costs or needs that arise
If you cannot give financially, please keep Zander, Amelia, and our entire family in your prayers.
“So do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
— Isaiah 41:10
From our family to yours — thank you for standing with us in this fight. Your love, prayers, and support mean more than we can say. We’ll keep sharing updates as we get them.
With love and hope,
Zander, Amelia & Family
