My name is Ronda and I am starting this fundraiser for my nephew, Zakk Coomes, who has a rare genetic disorder that causes kidney disease. Zakk had been healthy and hadn’t had any symptoms until May 22nd when his doctor ran some bloodwork after he had experienced severe itching, lethargy and dizziness. The labs came back showing total kidney failure and he was immediately sent to the ER. Zakk was just released from the hospital but will need to be on dialysis until he can get a kidney transplant. His doctor has stressed that he needs a living donor kidney ASAP. Most of our family members are disqualified from donating because of the genetic syndrome. We would like to help ease his financial burdens that this is causing him due to medical expenses and not being able to work full time.
