Hello,

My name is Zakaria, and I am reaching out to humbly ask for your support as I face one of the most challenging chapters of my life.

August 26, 2022, will forever be the day my dream of becoming a resident DJ in Dakhla turned into a nightmare.

Hired by Tulum Beach Resort Dakhla, I arrived to find a construction site instead of a workplace. I was redirected to Bavaro Beach Dakhla, but conditions only worsened. That night, I was violently assaulted, suffering a severe head injury that required five stitches. No medical assistance or psychological support was provided.

Despite 21 days of medical leave and ongoing pain, my temporary contract was abruptly terminated. Rejecting an unfair severance offer, I had to hire a lawyer, which further strained my finances. In April 2024, under financial pressure, I had no choice but to accept less than half of what I was owed.

Since September 2024, I have been requesting a workplace injury certificate, a legally required document necessary for my medical care. My requests have been ignored.

This assault has left me with severe consequences:

• Neurological and cognitive issues: memory loss, concentration problems, and decision-making difficulties.

• Chronic pain and fatigue: even basic tasks have become unbearable.

• Emotional distress and anxiety: moments of disorientation, heightened stress, and a deep emotional toll.

• Insomnia and loss of appetite: my health continues to decline.

These physical and psychological challenges have disrupted my life entirely, making it impossible for me to continue my passion as a DJ.

Employer Negligence: A Total Failure

Under Moroccan labor law, workplace injuries must be reported by the employer, and an injury certificate must be issued. These legal obligations were completely ignored in my case. The lack of safety measures, accountability, and support following the assault is a blatant violation of my rights.

With over 15 years of experience as a resident DJ in top venues across Morocco, I have never faced such injustice. DJs deserve a safe and controlled work environment, which was absent that night.

I am Fighting for My Rights—and for All Workers

I am simply asking for what is legally mine: a workplace injury certificate. This document will allow me to seek the specialized medical care I urgently need to recover and rebuild my life.
