Zainab is a bright TESOL teacher whose life has turned upside down after the recent war was launched on Gaza. Zainab's family who's still trapped in the North of Gaza lost their houses and source of living. Having lost everything, she's trying with her family to leave Gaza so she could start a new life with her family in a safer more promising climate. Zainab still believes there's good in this world and that life will reward her for all the suffering and pain she's been subjected to.
Zainab used to be quite humorous of a person and saw the bright side in every dilemma and that applies to her current situation.
"Last I remember of the world before it went to shambles is that I was watching the first season of Succession and getting very pissed at one of the main characters. Then I went to bed and woke up to find myself transported into the Walking Dead verse." Zainab is still at complete loss at how life is imitating art. She misses her bedroom and the comfort of her bed and the small luxury of having her own privacy, something that she lost having been displaced under the terror of F16, artillery and tanks bombing incessantly leaving her in a constant state of flight.
Zainab: "After three months, I finally was able to visit the rubble of our residential tower building and bid farewell to my room along with my memories. I also managed to find some of my clothes and belongings, something which made me incredibly happy even for a little while. " Zainab recalls.
We use a firepit to cook everything since cooking gas is nowhere to be found and if found is sold for very expensive costs. The process of making the fire is tiring and we have to search for wood pieces and the smoke we inhale blocks our lungs added to the fact that it's quite damaging to the eyesight. These newly living circumstances are making our lives all the more difficult.
