Help Zainab Mazari Save Her Sisters' Future

Donation protected
Hello everyone,
My name is Zainab Mazari. I’m a young Afghan woman who was forced to flee her home, family, and country after the return of the Taliban in 2021. Overnight, all my dreams and hopes—especially my dream of a professional career—were shattered. I had studied
journalism, worked as a reporter, and was an active member of civil society, advocating for women’s rights in Afghanistan.

Because of my work and activism, the Taliban raided my family home looking for me. But since I had already escaped to the United States, they targeted my family instead. When my father tried to protect my two younger sisters, the Taliban arrested him, tortured him, and executed him. From that moment, everything changed, and I knew I had to keep fighting to save my sisters.

Since arriving in the U.S., I’ve been trying to find a safe way to bring my sisters here. I found West Nottingham Academy, which offers scholarship opportunities for refugee and immigrant students. However, I need help financial, administrative, and prayer support to
secure this opportunity for my sisters.

Girls like my sisters, Sana (16) and Sahar (17), are at constant risk of forced marriage at any moment. The Taliban especially target girls who are without male guardians and force them into marriage with their fighters. In Afghanistan, there are no rights for girls, no freedom, no education, and no safety.

I have spoken with Kiran Kulkami, Chair of the Board of Trustees at West Nottingham, and they are offering a 40% discount on tuition, and related expenses. They have coordinated a pledge drive for the remaining $20,000 for each girl. The payment is not required until my sisters are safely in the USA with student visas – but the pledge letters are required for the Student Visa Application process.

I am confident our Creator has better plans for my sisters because I know His Steadfast Love never fails.
Will you help us to prepare for a better future through my sister’s education?
Thank you for your prayers.
