Assalamu alaikum dear brothers and sisters,
My name is Abbey, Zain's mum, and I'm reaching out to our community in a last attempt to get our beautiful baby boy the urgent medical care he desperately needs.
Our son has always had medical troubles from the moment he was born, but the causes were always unknown. He experienced illnesses like no other, would take weeks to recover and would be completely wiped out by them. He also showed signs of having troubles with his ears, in addition to being speech delayed and developmentally delayed all well before before 12 months old, something our MCHN and medical professionals wrote off as excessive first time parent concern.
It wasn't until he started daycare in June of this year where typical daycare illness exacerbated his poor health and the troubles with his ears, that our concerns finally started being taken seriously.
In the past two weeks alone, we've visited countless GPs, visited two hospitals due to worsening health and increased pain, and seen two private doctors, who now all agree; Zain is in need of grommets and an adenoidectomy before the year is out. Otherwise we risk further delay in his speech, and continue to watch our son suffer in a constant cycle of aggressive illness and pain.
The minimum public wait time is 2 years, and that is time that Zain no longer has.
His ear infection is now completely resistant to antibiotics having exhausted the three available to children, he is in pain daily and needs pain relief to help him get back to some form of himself. But, there is no other medical care, no medicine and no solution left to be offered to our son other than surgery.
We have had a private appointment made available to us on the 19th of December, with the full amount of the surgery, $5000, needing to be paid by the 1st of December, otherwise we'll lose our spot.
Your contribution no matter what it is, will allow us to get our son the medical care he needs now, and allow us to get his development and health back on track for the first time in his short life, and give us back our happy and healthy baby boy.
Jazakallah Khair,
Abbey, Naeem and Zain
