On April 23, 2020, Zaile was diagnosed with Leukemia at Valley Children's Hospital where she's currently seeking medical care. Zaile and her family are making weekly trips to the hospital to receive treatment/chemo. Zaile's dad Elias Mendez and her mom Yuritzi Barriga stopped working to take care of Zaile and the other two siblings. Zaile is a kind and compassionate seven year old whose smile lights up a room!
Zaile loves being a helper. She loves taking care of her little brother Ronald, and is always eager to help her teacher and school family.
She is a strong little girl and we have no doubt she will beat this!
Shandon School District, where Zaile attends first grade, has set up this Go Fund Me page to support this amazing family and help Zaile feel better as soon as possible. We have set a goal of 8,000 dollars to help Zaile's family pay for medical bills and necessities during this difficult time.
