Help Zackaree Overcome Stage 3 Lymphoma

Hello, we are Jesse and Michelle Holmes.

Sadly, we are coming to you with any parent's worst nightmare. In late July, our oldest son, Zackaree, came to us with pain and swelling in his pectoralis. With great concern, we took him to our PCP to be seen. At first, it was brushed off as "puberty," but the lumps in his chest came and went, so it prompted an ultrasound, which led to a CT scan. That CT scan led us to a referral to Oishei's Children's Hospital, where we got a call from Roswell Cancer Institute to bring Zackaree in for a contrast CT scan and blood work. That was done on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, and that same evening, the nightmare unfolded when our new doctor from Roswell said that Zack needs an urgent biopsy and needed to be emergency admitted to Oishei's Children's Hospital in Buffalo, New York, where he would stay for one week. However, when the CT scans, blood work, and biopsy came back, it showed more severe results, and Zack was diagnosed on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, with non-Hodgkin's T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma, and it is stage 3. We were then told that Zack will now be staying here at Oishei's for 1-2 months while he undergoes intensive chemotherapy. Zack's cancer is a cancer of the blood that attacks his good blood cells, which makes him immunocompromised. Zack has tumors in his chest, armpits, tonsils, abdomen, and kidneys; the chest is where his biggest tumor is. He is now set up with a two-year treatment plan. Zack is a bubbly, 13-year-old who is very athletic, outgoing, and is a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan just like the rest of us. We also have a 10-year-old son that we are going to visit as much as possible and check on our pets, mail, grab more clothes, etc., but driving home from Buffalo to our small town in Franklinville is an hour and a half one way, and the weather is against us currently. We are setting up this GoFundMe page in hopes to offset some of our expenses with gas, food, and medical bills when they start to trickle in.
