Help Zack recover from COVID-19
Donation protected
At 1:00 in the morning on Saturday, October 9th, Zack, struggling to breathe properly, called 911. He then walked down the stairs from his second-floor apartment to wait for the ambulance, alone. In the dark. Paramedics arrived, took him to the hospital and he has been there since.
Zack is our nephew, and he is recovering from COVID-19. Much of his month-long hospital stay was spent on a ventilator. Thankfully, his time on a ventilator ended on October 26th, but a long road to recovery lies ahead. It is still unclear when he will be released from the hospital.
As stated above, Zack currently lives in a second-floor apartment. Because of lingering knee and back problems and the inevitable reduced lung capacity caused by his coronavirus infection, Zack needs to move to a first-floor apartment.
The money raised here will make it easier for Zack to transition to life outside the hospital. More specifically, it will compensate Zack, a single father, for wages lost during his hospital stay, pay for the security deposit and first month’s rent on a new apartment, and restock his refrigerator and cupboards after a month in the hospital.
Zack is a security guard. Before that, he served our country in South Korea and Iraq. His adult life has revolved around keeping people and places safe. Now it’s time for family and friends to serve him, to protect him as he struggles to recover from COVID-19. Let’s show Zack he’s not alone.
