My son Zack has been battling issues with his shunt since January 2024. He had an emergency shunt revision last February 2024; since then, he has been in and out of the hospital several times a month due to complications. All of these medical issues have caused him to not be able to work, which has resulted in him not being able to pay his monthly bills. He is several months behind on rent.

He continues to have issues with his shunt and will be in the hospital for the next 3 weeks until they can safely replace his shunt. Once they replace the shunt, he will still have to be out of work for an additional 3-5 weeks.

He is in the process of applying for short-term disability to help while he is in the hospital and unable to work, but even if he gets approved, the amount he receives won't cover his expenses.

My hope is that as a community, we can come together and help raise some money to alleviate the stress of not being able to pay his rent and worrying about possible eviction. This way, he can stress less about money and focus on healing.
