Remission! Apparently Zachary Lara’s body has decided to keep on keeping on, which is great for being alive but terrible financially in this economic climate.
A few years ago a cancer diagnosis (which was not shared with many) hit him hard. Zachary continued to work full time while going through treatment until constant hospitalization made it apparent something was wrong.
After a year of chemo and pharmacy worth of pills that would make him rattle like a maraca, the cancer diagnosis was officially classified as “in remission” in 2024. Unfortunately Zachary’s body didn’t get the memo that the cancer was gone! We were done! We won! Finished! Fin! Since then, the hospital visits have continued, and it turns out modern medicine is truly amazing but also equally, aggressively expensive.
The good news: no cancer.
The bad news: survival apparently comes with a terrifying invoice.
Financially things have become quite daunting and a bit overwhelming, but physically there has been real progress lately and that’s given all of us a lot of hope. So this is him swallowing his pride and allowing his friends to finally create a “go fund me” on his behalf. Now is the part where, as friends and family, we’re stepping in and asking for a little help while he continues the ongoing, (very expensive) project of not dying. If you can donate, share or cheer form the sidelines it would be greatly appreciated. Funds will be going directly to Zachary for medical bills and every day living expenses as he continues to work as much as he can. It takes a village. Every little bit helps as he fights his organs for dominance. Let’s help keep this stubborn human mildly functional, almost approachable, and alive!
