Help Zach recover from his spinal injury.
Donation protected
Zachariah “Zach” Gross, age 14, a Junior Varsity football player at C.D. Hylton High School, sustained an injury during a football game on October 20th. He was immediately taken to a local hospital by ambulance for treatment. It was determined that Zach suffered a spinal injury. His first several days in the hospital were heart-wrenching. His family didn’t know if he would even be able to walk again. They were first told that he could possibly suffer from quadriplegia for the rest of his life. The family was devastated by the news. As Zach began to slowly move his feet and hands, hope grew for the doctors and family as they were witnessing a miracle. Today, he's out of the hospital and home with a walker to move, with assistance, very slowly. Although this is a positive step towards his recovery, the family hasn’t been told if he will regain full range of motion and return to his old self. “I have cried so many tears already”, his mom LaToya said late Friday evening. “I have no idea what to expect.”
Tuesday, November 2nd marked his first therapy appointment in what may be a long year ahead. To help offset the time his mom LaToya, a single parent will have to take off from work, costs to get Zach to and from treatments, and unforeseeable additional medical treatment, our Athletic Booster Club has established a GoFundMe page to support her and the family. Please consider a small donation today. Your help could offer one more hour of time LaToya can spend with her son and his recovery.
