My name’s Zachary and I’m Deaf. I have been playing football for as long as I can remember. When I haven’t played for a while, I get itchy feet!
I play for Wales Deaf Men team (debuting at 15) and semi pro football on Saturday and U18 football on Sunday. I was awarded as top 3 best young player in the Deaf Champions League Men U-21 Futsal competition in the Netherlands in 2025.
I was so proud to receive a letter telling me that I have been selected to represent Great Britain in the Under 23s World Deaf Football Championship in Serbia. I am one of the youngest players selected (I’m only 16).
The problem is that to get to Serbia, I need to pay £2,500 for travel, accommodation, training and registration. To be honest, I don’t have that kind of money.
My brother, Cameron, has also been selected for the team this year but it means my family has to find £5,000.
I wish the UK government would support Deaf athletes but they don’t do that at the moment. That’s why I am turning to people I know and the general public.
If you could give a donation (doesn’t matter if it’s small or large) I would really appreciate your generosity. Every donation helps me take one step closer to the competition.
If you are able to support me, I will keep you updated with my training and the progress before and throughout the competition.
Thank you for considering supporting me and the U23 GB Deaf team.
