Help Zach Receive His New Service Dog
Our son Zach recently suffered a heartbreaking loss;his beloved service dog, Taza, passed away from cancer after only 4 short years together. Taza was more than a dog; she was Zach’s constant companion, his helper, and his source of confidence and independence. Losing her has left a huge hole in his heart and in our family.
We are so grateful and blessed that the amazing company who trained Taza is stepping in to help once again. They will be placing Zach’s second service dog with him this coming January free of charge; due to this unexpected loss. We are also thankful to the Ronald McDonald House in Ohio, will provide us a place to stay during the two weeks of training Zachary will get with his dog.
Even with these incredible blessings, there are still many expenses we need help covering:
• Gas and travel costs to and from Ohio
• Food while traveling and during training
• Essential supplies for Zach’s new service dog
• First year of insurance (helps cover vet care and preventative medications)
• Care expenses for our other 3 kids who will be with friends and family while my husband Zachary and I travel.
As a family, we don’t often reach out for financial help, but this season has been overwhelming. We were not prepared for such a devastating loss so soon in Taza’s life, and the unexpected costs are heavy.
Zach lives with multiple diagnoses, including autism, PTSD, EDS, a neurological tremor that causes his whole body to shake, chronic pain, and POTS. His service dog is not just a companion but a lifeline. The dog is trained to retrieve items, open doors, alert to medical episodes, get help if Zach is down, and provide calming redirect support during difficult moments. With a service dog by his side, Zach is able to go out into the world, experience life more fully, and have a measure of independence.
We are humbly asking friends, family, and kind supporters to come alongside us to make this possible. Your support whether through donations, sharing our story, or simply keeping Zach in your prayers means more than words can express.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping Zach take this next step toward healing, hope, and independence.
