Help Zach Koscuik's Fight Against Crohn's

This is to raise funds to support Zach Koscuik in his ongoing battle with Crohn’s disease, a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that affects the lining of the digestive tract. Crohn's disease can cause life-threatening complications, and in Zach’s case he is fighting for his life. Crohn's disease can cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, weight loss, anemia, vitamin deficiencies and fatigue. Some people may be symptom free most of their lives, while others like Zach can have severe chronic symptoms that never go away.

Zach has undergone a multitude of treatment options in his 24 year battle with the disease. He has had 17 surgical procedures, including 3 resection surgeries due to chronic inflammation and bacterial infections caused from Crohn’s. His third resection surgery in December 2023 caused him to lose 1.5 feet of his intestines, leaving him with only half of his small and large intestine. With no other available treatments, he is now left with his last possible option, a Stem Cell transplant, commonly performed for Cancer patients. Crohn's disease cannot be cured, but we’re hopeful that the Stem Cell Transplant will be Zach’s saving grace in living a better quality of life and give him the ability to once again pursue his life’s work.

Zach is a Syracuse native. He attended SUNY Oswego, worked for News Channel 9, and moved to New York City to pursue his dream as a stand up comedian. He has hosted several comedy shows in and around upstate NY and New York City and hopes that this transplant will give him the opportunity to get back on stage to do what he loves the most, making others laugh.

We’re asking the Syracuse community, Oswego alumni, and his friends in NYC and beyond to help support him in the fight for his life. We don’t know what the outcome of the transplant will be. The best we can do is help lessen the financial burden while he goes through a long road to recovery. Thank you for all of your support!
