Hi, my name is Zach Brock. I play the violin and write music, and sometimes I play with a band called Snarky Puppy. A couple of years ago I assembled my dream group to record an album that I had imagined while on the road. The band includes Eric Harland on drums, Mark Lettieri on guitar, Justin Stanton on keys and trumpet, and Jonathan Maron on bass. We recorded at Dreamland Studios near Woodstock, with Nic Hard engineering, and those initial sessions ended with one more song to go. My plan was to do a bit more writing for the record and to raise the money I needed to finish the project through touring and playing concerts in 2020. You know what happened next.

 

Almost two years later I’m still as passionate about this project as when it began. The influence of Snarky Puppy is all over this record, as is my deep love of jazz, classical, and American roots music. But the band is what really brings these new tunes to life. You know them as some of the greatest musicians on earth, and their unique approaches and spirits created something unlike anything I’ve ever been a part of. I can’t wait to share this album with the world.

 

As of right now we’re one song short of completing all of the tracking. There is an incredible opportunity to record this band live in NYC on January 4, the day before we play at the Blue Note, and to capture it all on video. I need your help to make this happen. This fundraiser will make it possible for me to bring the band to NYC and for us to capture this moment.
